Conditions of registration:

1. The provider will operate an independent clinic.

2. The service must only operate between the hours of 0700 and 2100 Monday to Sunday, except for the provision of emergency care.

3. The provider must only allow non-surgical treatments, namely facial and body aesthetic treatments.

4. The provider must not allow any laser or intense pulsed light treatments or procedures to be carried out.

5. The provider must not allow the provision of dental treatments (including dental hygiene treatments, dental implants, tooth whitening and orthodontics).

6. The provider must not allow any ionising radiation exposures to be carried out.

7. The provider must not allow the prescribing of controlled drugs.

8. The provider must not allow the prescribing of cannabis-based medicinal products.

9. The provider must not allow any treatments or procedures to be carried out using any form of sedation or general anaesthesia.

10. The provider must only treat service users aged 18 or over.

11. The provider must not allow children under the age of 18 to be present during any consultations, treatments or procedures (unless they are the service user).

12. The provider must ensure that staff possess the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience and that they are provided in sufficient numbers to ensure the safety and welfare of patients, the public and wider workforce.

13. The provider must ensure that staff requiring to be registered by a professional regulating body are actively registered. 14. The provider must only treat patients individually, group treatments are not permitted.

15. The provider must not allow service users to consume alcohol while in receipt of health care.

16. The provider must not allow animals or pets in the area where the treatments are provided, except for service animals

Reporting Period: 02/07/2026 

 

In accordance with the Duty of Candour Procedure (Scotland) Regulations 2018, Skin Deep Clinic is committed to providing safe, high-quality care and to being open and honest with patients if an unintended or unexpected incident results in harm. 

 

During this reporting period: 

  • Number of Duty of Candour incidents: 0 

  • Number of apologies issued under the Duty of Candour procedure: 0 

  • Number of reviews carried out: 0 

  • Changes made to policies or practice as a result of Duty of Candour incidents: None. 

 

Although no Duty of Candour incidents occurred during this reporting period, Skin Deep Clinic remains committed to maintaining an open and transparent culture. Relevant policies remain in place, practitioners are expected to maintain an understanding of their responsibilities under the Duty of Candour Procedure (Scotland) Regulations 2018, and incidents will continue to be managed in accordance with current legislation should they arise.
